Nestled in the heart of Metro Detroit’s lush pine forest, Shepherd’s Hollow is one of Michigan’s most sought-after luxury wedding venues. With its signature glass tent perched atop rolling green hills, this location offers the dreamlike setting of a destination wedding—without leaving the Midwest.

Daniela and Jason chose this venue precisely for its ethereal charm and from our first conversation, I knew this wedding would be one for the books! As sunlight poured through the transparent walls and canopy of the tent, the couple’s ceremony and reception felt like something out of a modern-day fairytale. The towering trees surrounded the event in privacy and natural grandeur, while the glass tent allowed nature and luxury to coexist in perfect harmony.

Every detail of Daniela and Jason’s wedding was rooted in bespoke style. The bride stunned in a couture gown that featured intricate hand-beaded embellishments, a sweeping train, and delicate gloves—timeless with a modern edge. Jason looked equally dashing in a custom-tailored tuxedo, perfectly complementing the wedding’s elevated black-tie aesthetic.

From the bridal party’s designer ensembles to the guests dressed in chic black-tie looks, this wedding was a masterclass in fashion-forward luxury. One of the undeniable showstoppers? A multi-tiered wedding cake so grand it deserved its own spotlight! Artfully crafted with sugar florals and architectural elements, it was more than a dessert—it was a sculptural centerpiece.

The reception space was filled with custom tablescapes, imported florals, and an abundance of candlelight. The entire tent glowed with a romantic warmth as day turned to night, and every corner was styled to perfection—from the statement floral installations to the monogrammed dance floor.

As luxurious as the ceremony was, the celebration truly came alive after dark. Daniela and Jason’s guests filled the dance floor from the first beat to the last, led by a live band and a curated playlist that had even the most composed guests dancing like no one was watching. Signature cocktails flowed, the champagne never stopped, and the late-night snacks ensured the energy never dipped. The lighting design pulsed with the music, casting a soft, glamorous glow that turned the glass tent into the ultimate luxury party dome.

When Kristina called me explaining that she wanted to do a photoshoot as soon as possible because her pup was growing so quickly and she wanted to capture his puppy-hood, I was on board! I mean, could you deny Lou's ADORABLE little self?! OMG - ALL OF THE HEART EYES! You would't even know from the photos and happy smiles that it was a FREEZING Chicago day - this is really what growing, sweet family photos are all about! Enjoy!

Bonphotage Michigan Wedding Photography - Maheen + Adil

The biggest lesson I have learned as a wedding photographer is that humans are so much more alike than they are different. Every human, no matter race, religion, or ethnicity, wants to love and be loved. Every human wants to share special moments with family and loved ones. Having the honor of photographing beautiful weddings around the world of Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu and non-religious couples reconfirms these truths time and time again. I am blessed to witness the warmth of love and compassion between humans of all kinds on such an intimate and beautiful day - the wedding day.

I have photographed MANY weddings and have seen a lot of beautiful ceremonies and receptions, but there are very few that literally stop me in my tracks. As I entered Maheen and Adil's reception ballroom at the historic Dearborn Inn in Michigan, my jaw literally dropped. The elegant space was beautifully adorned with chiffon drapery and raised, enormous hydrangea floral arrangements. Cherry blossoms were beautifully placed between the florals.

No detail was spared - from the brides (two pairs) of Bagdley Mischka heels, to her jewelry which belonged to her grandmother, the day(s) were beyond stunning! One the first day of celebrations, the bride wore gold and ivory, with a gorgeous veil dreams are made of. On the second day, she wore ruby and gold and her happiness was contagious! The food was truly a cut-above and included a warm donut stand and desserts for days.

We are so blessed to capture the happiest day of people's lives and are so thankful to be graciously included by the family and friends of our lovely couples. Thank you Maheen and Adil for allowing us to capture your most precious and beautiful day! Enjoy this sneak peek!

Bonphotage - Michigan Lakeside Estate Wedding Photography - Jolie + Stu

When Jolie and Stu contacted me about photographing their intimate wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family...at a $10 million dollar mansion surrounded by lush garden and with private tunnel access to Lake Michigan, I was obviously intrigued. I mean, really? Sounds like a photographer's dream.

And, they weren't exaggerating. Lush foliage surrounded the windy streets leading up to the secluded estate and hydrangeas and weeping willows grew freely. The bride looked stunning in a Victoria Sdoukos couture gown and pearl drop earrings. Her gorgeous bouquet included pink, peach and soft-colored roses and hydrangeas.

The sweetest little flower girls and ring bearer danced carelessly around the garden overlooking Lake Michigan like a vision out of a dream. The intimate wedding took place on the private beach area and was followed by a BBQ style dinner cooked by their favorite chef. After dinner, cake and lots of champagne, the couple danced their first dance in the garden surrounded by beautiful purple, blue and orange sunset colors.
